Good terminology: the fight against stonecoal English

The annual Terminology Day, traditionally hosted by a member of the NUT group on Translation, aims to bring together translators, academics, experts and everyone else interested in translation and terminology for an afternoon of workshops, presentations and opportunities to share knowledge and experiences. This year the T (Eindhoven) shall be hosting the event on Friday, February 23, as previously announced in this newsletter.

This year, the theme is Good terminology: the fight against stonecoal English

The program will be as follows:

11:00 – 12:00 Welcome / coffee and tea / registration
12:00 – 12:30 Welcome to the TU/e Language Center
12:30 – 13:30 Discussion: pet peeves and how to cope with community terminology (Steven Ralston, TU/e Language Center, Eindhoven)
13:30 – 14:30 Lunch
14:30 – 15:15 Introduction to HOTNeV (Bert Keurentjes, Head of Translation, In’To Languages, Nijmegen)
15:15 – 15:30 Small break
15:30 – 16:30 Workshop: HOTNeV Terminologie in de praktijk (Tia Nutters and Jacqueline de Vries, University Translation and Correction Service, Groningen)
16:30 – 17:30 Drinks

Signed attendance certificates will be available for all participants.
